Xyla was growing uneasy, but didn't show it outwardly. She looked up at Neo questioningly, asking if he knew what he was doing with just a look. She didn't need something else to worry about, and this Akala girl made it sound as if the individual the chief was bringing wasn't the most pleasant of people to be surprised by.

Neo wasn't so sure he wanted to sit down, now. This might very well be the last time he got to see Xyla before he was shipped off. He swallowed the lump in his throat. A bigger man would have reached across the table and escorted the rude girl out the door by the throat. But... now that he though about it, both girls could probably take him out in a fight.
At last, he pulled out a chair for himself. He would just have to make the most of the cards he'd been dealt. There were a dozen things he wanted to talk about, but not in front of-
"So," Akala sighed, raising an eyebrow at Zyla, "How'd you hook up with this loser?"

Xyla defended Neo quietly by responding "He saved me from bleeding out in the forest. He's not a loser in my eyes." However, Xyla had already been infected with curiosity, and even though she wouldn't take to heart what Akala said immediately, she asked her "Why do you think he's a loser?"
