~Oblivion~ {A Fantasy RP}

(She is gonna have an awful hard time with this bedrest thing, I suspect.)
Neo rushed back to the border. Hopefully he could skin the panther and get it solution before anyone noticed. The forest blurred by and he pumped his wings, nose tipped into the wind. He swerved around the trunks, lost in thought when a thump came from above. The angel wheeled around. The patrol.
"There you are, prince!" One of them sneered. She tossed a rock into the air and caught it. She crunched up her tiny nose. "Where were you?"
Neo glared at her. "I don't have to tell you anything." He said.
She laughed, "Oh! Being brave today are we?"
He hovered there, silent. I don't have to put up with this. He turned away.
"Hey! I asked you a question." She snapped as he flew off, but a leathery hand laid on her shoulder.
"That's enough, Afia." He growled, and watched him go. "He'll get what's coming to him."

Neo scanned the ground for a boarder tree. Stupid Afia. Stupid parrot. Stupid me. He shook his head. How did one even go about skinning a cat? And did she want to keep the skull, too? Oh, he hoped not.
(Yes. She's probably going to fall out of bed or something.) Xyla was thirsty, and with no water in her hut, she grimaced to get up on her feet, doing so even though it pained her. With determination, she hobbled to the small pond near her house, realizing that bending over would inflame her midsection again. She commanded a small vine to bring the water up to her, and drank from the leaf of the plant, repeating the process until her thirst was finally quenched.

The fact that they had just let him go like that itched at the back of his mind. Normally they would all plug him with questions. But he couldn't worry about that now. He finally spotted the beast and backpaddled to a halt on the ground.
He cringed. The knife was still stuck in it's head, and flies were already sticking to the dried blood. At least he had a knife, now. He grabbed the wooden handle and pulled it out with a slight grating noise. Now, the fun part.

(I actually watched my brother skin a bobcat before. I could go into pretty good detail, but that would gross someone out.)

(Lol thx for sparing us) Xyla dipped her feet in the water, moving them back and forth slowly, relaxing in the warm sun's rays. She looked at a reflection of herself in the water, before thinking out loud "Wow, it really was that bad." Her mind drifted away with the thought of Neo...he had been gone for a while now: was he all right? Had his tribe found out he had crossed the border? She looked worriedly in the other direction, before realizing...she had just met him. Yes, and he had saved her, arguably twice, so she should care. And she did. With that, she should up and hobbled to the other side of the pond, looking out into the distance hoping to see a glimpse of him, to know he was ok.

(Yeah, cats are gross. I mean- I like cats. In fact, I have three. But to skin one? Ugh. And bears. Bear stink something awful.)
(*claps hands together* okay! Moving right along.)

Never would he do this again. Only the thought of her kept him going. She had given so much for this thing, the least he could do was bring her the hide. After about an hour of cutting, he finally had the skin off. It wasn't pretty, but it was his best. He folded it up, trying to keep the wet side from soiling the fur, and flew off.

Xyla awaited, still standing outside waiting for him to arrive. She had decided she was not moving from the spot: his safety was all that mattered, just like he had believed for her when she was bleeding in the jungle. Preparing for the worst, she imagined him captured, and she would have to plead for his freedom:she intended to see him again. Returning inside, she gathered two of her favorite colors, olive green, for peace, and red, for a hint of anger, but also love. She made a swirl design on each side of her face, and went outside, only to see him approaching. Oh great. Now she had paint on...almost all Spirits thought painting on others t be attractive, but she didn't mean for...great. He was right in front of her, her cheeks suddenly because of her blushing.

His eyes widened. "What are you doing outside? I mean, are you alright? Wh-wow." he landed next to her, scrolls of pigment curling from her eyes. "Um." He coughed, trying not to get lost in her eyes again. "Here's your kitty."

Xyla hung the skin on a tree, letting it dry, before turning to him, before shyly asking about her paint "Do you like it?" She had kept her blush going strong as she sensed his eyes on her. She looked down at the floor, unable to hold his eyes anymore.
