Akala crossed her arms on the table, the candle light glancing across her smug face, and all Neo could do was sweat. He touched the box tied around his belt. It seemed like every time he had slipped up, she had been right there. Did she know about that, too?

The angel girl grinned. She had been waiting for that question for years, he knew, "Well," she started. Then a wind gusted into the room, snuffing out the candle flame and sending a chill up Neos spine. A shadow fell across them from the doorway. Three figures stood in the doorway.

(Enter the family.)

Xyla turned to face the door, seeing three figures, whom she believed to be the chief and his family. that's when she realized....Neo was a prince. He cheeks tingled something, as she realized she was in a royal dining chamber.

The chieftain ignored his son with his usual air of dignity bordering on arrogance. His eyes instead fell on Xyla. Neo watched his temples jump. Uh-oh, he thought. I hadn't thought about it until now, but... he followed his father's gaze, he may remember her. And side with her parents. She didn't seem weak. The girl wore jaguar skins, for crying out loud. Yet her cheeks were flushed, and her posture changed, now folding in on herself. Without thinking, he took her hand under the table and squeezed. He gave her an affirming nod. This was hard for her, he knew.

(Yes!! He manned up!)
Xyla looked at the chieftain somewhat nervously, unable to pick out the best words to approach the situation. That's when she felt a squeeze of her hand, and looked over to Neo, who had assured her it would all be fine without even saying a word. She returned her eyes upon the chieftain, saying a simply yet courteous "It is an honor to meet you, chieftain." She didn't recall seeing him before, but the very opposite could be the case and she didn't know it.

Akala rose as the chieftan entered, but Neo just rolled his eyes. That girl was such a suck-up.
"Likewise." He said, tipping his chin at Zylay as he took a seat at the head of the table. One might have compared his voice to that of a robot, but those hadn't been invented yet.
The two guests were scantly clad and pale as ghosts, but no less dignified. One was much more slender than the other, with two pale green stripes across his chest that likened the hems of a butler's suit. Apparently he thought himself too good to sit beside his friend, who had plopped down beside Akala, so instead walked all the way around the table to fold his kelp and fish scales into the seat on the other side of Xyla.

Xyla looked around her. Quite the sight, she was pretty sure these were Ripples. At least that's what people told her they looked like. Xyla overlooked the table as food began being served, trying to distract herself from the awkwardness surrounding her. There was clear tension. Between Neo and the chief. The chief wanted to tell him something, and Xyla felt like she was blocking him from saying it. She folded her legs politely, waiting fro someone to begin the talking.
