I have a white leghorn that has always sat in the nesting box for about an hour, layed an egg everyday since August 30th until December 20th, the recent start of the recent endless cold snap (lows in between 8-16, highs 18-25). She resumed the next day and every day since, but now is in the nesting box for at least 2 hours, and every egg is abnormally shaped. I have notice no other odd behaviors, breathing and comb look fine. She is a thin bird, thinner that my other high productive WL. I have been amping up their protein since the end of November, hoping to fatten her up a bit. My question is, do you think she's laying oddly shaped because she's cold, or it is something more?
