OCTOBER HATCH-A-LONG!!! 2015

I will join. Just finished my Sept hatch. 6/25 quail eggs, with 5 of those going back to the egg donor, the other one was a late comer so I get to keep it. Chicken eggs from Sept have not hatched yet.3/12 still moving. Ordered more quail and chicken eggs and will set in a few days.

If that was my cat, the chick would be dead. She tried to murder my baby quail yesterday. Wasn't happy when I picked her up by a back leg and deposited her far away from the brooder. Baby is safe and is now dubbed 'trooper' for having survived.

So glad Trooper survived! The photo scared me, my cat would have gobbled up that chick.

My cat likes our chicks too. Or it could be the warm brooding area helps relieve his arthritis.

Next batch of 7 is off and running early! The first egg pipped day 19 10/5/2015 and was out early on day 20 today.Egg #2 was pipped and out by lunch today. Egg#3 is pipped and will be open for business soon.


Update this morning(10/7/2015) 5 of 7 hatched the other 2 have pipped and will hopefully be out this afternoon.Dark Cornish and Dark Cornish X chicks.

OOOPS!!!Apparently I left a chick/egg in the incubator on day 18 good thing I checked before hand rolling the eggs. He was staring at me through the side window. So 6 of 8 eggs have hatched.

All eight eggs hatched!
