Lucky you, I did actually take some! Here they are. Two of the chicks in the pictures are two of the mama hens that just hatched eggs for me. Fun to see them so little. Some liked to be back where it was really warm, others liked just being at the mouth of the cave, but their little chickie pile when they slept together was always so cute.

Lovely set up! Gives me pause to think about putting the heating pad over a garden wire arch I have, and instead using it under shavings since they began sitting on top of the tunnel within days.

At least 6 chicks hatched now. Several more external pips.

Looks like most of the little ones will be out by the time we're out of church.

Came home to 9 chicks hatched, 2 pipped and I quiet still. Moved the two biggest chicks over to the brooder, rest can wait until the morning. Fluffed up chick photos to follow.

11/12 that went into lockdown for this hatch. 13 were set, 1 early quitter. 1 DIS. Most still drying. My daughter says the reason the hatch rate was so much better was because she was handling it. She says I “fuss” with them too much. 14 years old and she is not wrong.
Always was smarter and wiser than I.

Candled the other sets:
DAY 15 for the shipped eggs and all remaining 9 look great. I should probably leave my daughter in charge of these at lockdown, too.

DAY 6 for the last October set (Layla eggs).
All 13 look good and are developing nicely.
