October Hatch-A-Long

I hatched out 1 painted Silkie and one black Silkie chick. Both needed assistance, but shipped eggs seem to be a big problem! They just hatch so easily.. So bizzare!

Ooops, no shelf liner in mine and I'm at Day 20. Still no pips. I have them in an egg flat, bottoms up. Should I check to see if any are popping at the wrong end?

No, leave them as they are..
Not only could opening your incubator be bad mojo, putting them in a different position on day 20 could be too...

So far out of 12 eggs and on day 22, 3 new black chicks "Midnight", "Blackie" and "Navy" have been hatched

I am setting 15 Lavender Orpington eggs tomorrow. I could use all the good luck and good vibes I can get! Oh, and I plan to use the dry method.

ACK! dropped an egg last night while doing my nightly rotate down/up a row

Chick was perfect and right where it should have been for day 7!

My babies are here!!! Out of 14 eggs I had 9 hatch. I'm very happy with that! Although I do with more of the Ameraucanas had hatched but oh well! Here they are! Hatched 10/4

Ameraucana #2 That needed assistance with his hatch. Poor guy was stuck in his shell for almost 24 hours so I had to peel the shell away from him and wait for him to detach so he's looking a little rough but is doing really well. I wonder when I can wash his little head off?

I'm pretty sure this is the Isbar mix.

What kind of flashlight are you using? And what kind of camera? I can't seem to get dark photos like that with my cellphone camera.

I'm using a maglite that my DH got from work and I actually use my cell phone (Samsung S5) because I cannot get my canon rebel to take the pictures! I take video with my cell as well!

ETA
Depending on the egg the flashlight app on my phone is very bright and better than the maglite. When I take video's I put the egg in the well of the protective cover on my phone and turn the app on. I posted the video's on here in the August hatch-a-long.
