I hear knocking on one of the eggs thru the incubator... but. No pip on outside of shell.... is this normal! I'm a little freaked but don't want to mess w them for fear of screwing everything up! This is almost as bad as getting ready to have a baby!
It is crazy, right? They have to peck for quite a long time to to pip externally... it is a lot of work for them. I love incubating under a broody because the conditions are just right so even though they are in the bator now they should do just fine. It just takes quite a long time!
That's normal! It is nerve wracking to listing to them try to escape. But resist opening the bator!I hear knocking on one of the eggs thru the incubator... but. GROSS! Glad you got to a couple of the eggs!My broody didn't know when to stop laying and to sit. All were bad and these two I'm sure I saved from the same end as the gasses from the others would have killed them (or at least that's what I read.) Her nest was rank!
