Pics
Just wanted to show my twin egg candle pics... Both are growing at the same rate for now from what I can tell. This is the only egg I've been candling daily because we are trying to keep close tabs on it. There are so many veins, but I can only do so much with taking pictures because my hands are too small!

Next pictures I take I will be using my husband because his hands are huge. This egg is extra large and it barely fits into the palm of my hand so it's difficult to hold while candling.

OK today is hatch day, not a Pip... I figured out why, its colder! the incubator is in an unheated room, my last 5 or 6 hatches have been when it was about 90 degrees during the day and 80 degrees at night. Its much cooler now so I looked at the temperature in the incubator and it was about 3 degrees cooler than normal. I turned up the heat and now I am hoping I can get them to pip today. They developed fine up until Lockdown but its been hot up until the past 4 days...

@igorsMistress I posted the pics so you could see that I actually saw something :gignow I'm a little less stressed

:gigI understand! It's stressful not knowing whether they're developing in there.

Good luck with the twins :fl I had a huge egg from one of my girls that was a double yolker. I would have tried to hatch it but it wasn't fertile, no boys old enough for that right now.

This one is about three times bigger than she usually lays so I'm hoping that they'll be enough room in the egg for both of them to develop correctly!

I'm actually really shocked that they are fertile because I've only seen our jersey giant mate with her one time. ALL of the eggs that I put in that are hers, are fertile and have veins.

I can't really see anything inside my red sex link eggs because they're a bit darker which I'm bummed about. But they're developing, I just cant see the veins as good as I can with my cream eggs from the Delaware.

I put in 5 from my barred rock and I think none of them are fertile. I think I'm going to pull them all out on Wednesday night. I was hoping to get a rooster from her eggs so I can have a barred rooster. I can always do another hatch :gig

Yes, and another, and another, and another :gigIt's addictive, probably because it's so amazing to see those little peeps hatch!

The good thing about my chickens is I have a laying flock that lay the fertile eggs. Then I hatch the eggs and have meat chickens. Of course I'll keep the pullets I love most, I might even make a free range flock with no fencing to see how they do.

I just have checked the Temperature, but since it was holding steady for about 5 months I just became accustomed to it being right all the time. I guess that's not a tinker, however I was going through the motions and not paying attention. In my defense sometimes with pay too much attention is start playing around with things and create a problem.
