October-hatch-along 2019

Just moved the hatch from 6 weeks ago into the 3rd stage integration brooder and in a few days or maybe a week they will be in the general population of Juvenile birds. Then I cleaned then 2nd stage brooder and moved in the 3 week old chicks to make room for the up coming hatch. I am a bit concerned because temps are starting to get slightly low and these guys are really only 2 and a half weeks old. I have electricity to this brooder but I am not running heat lamps anymore. I have a solar heat collecting system and composting Manure at the bottom of all the new straw I added. It was pretty warm when I turned it over before adding new manure. It won't make it super warm but it will keep the 45-55 degree temps from being too cold. Plenty of them to huddle around the solar heated water bottle with heat coming up from below so they should keep themselves warm. Hatch is approximently Monday and I have 4 days to clean out this brooder thoroughly so I am not behind the 8-ball like I was a couple hatches ago.

I have a humidikit for my incubator and I LOVE IT. Just set it and with the turner, forget it (I don't forget it, but I try).
What does it look like this kit?
@AusHen is your Leghorn white? I have one that hatched yesterday too. My very first Leghorn! The chick is still in the incubator as I have another 2 pipped eggs.. but he/she is so smart - right after hatch moved to the fan, dried out and moved back to the heating source!

It's called a Humidikit and available at Incubator Warehouse.

Ok, I have the humidifier. The control module just arrived yesterday,I bought it from a Chinese website online - I'm in Europe.. I haven't had the time to connect all together though yet, it arrived without instructions or schema. I'll probably do it on the weekend. Do you use a bulb in the incubator? My heater in the incubator broke at Lockdown the other day so I had to think about another heating solution immediately. I put a light bulb but I didn't move the fan as I don't know how the fan and the bulb should be positioned.

Those are so cool. I saw those and wondered if the fog/mist would settle on the eggs making them too wet?

I haven't found that to be the case at all. The only thing I have an issue with is that the tube drips water a little bit so I make sure no eggs are directly beneath the hole. I pull it out and hold it straight up so the water runs back into the reservoir once in a while.

If it's the same kit you put the probes in the incubator, distilled water in the bottle and hit the set button on the controller, use tge arrows to set humidity and hit the set button again. Then turn it on and make sure the dial in the front is turned to max output.

When you want to change the humidity setting you push the set button, change it up or down and push set again.

I don't use a bulb, my heater works.

@Maiahr I thought it was white but I swear I see a few black down feathers, I'm starting to question if it's actually a leghorn, egg looks white to me but I just had a splash hatch from an obvious cream egg (possibly one of the Australorp) I have one egg left that I'm sure is a leghorn but it pipped wrong end and has made pretty much no progress (still alive) while others have pipped and progressed or hatched..
Gee this clutch is full of surprises, didn't expect any splashes (maybe they are paints) and a Dominique has popped out of a "plymouth rock" egg
