October Hatching ... How many are in? I'm due to hatch on 10/17

Up to 10 little silkies now. These guys sure take their time. They seem to hatch out in threes about every 10-12 hrs or so lol. I hope I can get a few more. Today is day 22. I will try to post pics later today when I get a chance. I have a new camera and still figuring it out because it is so different than my old one lol.

My chicks are due on 10-19-10 (Wheaten Ameraucana). Of the 7 eggs I received only three are developing. This mailed eggs thing is hard. Should a person just expect less than half of what they receive in the mail to hatch?

Congrats flgarden!!!! Can't wait to see them......shhhhhhh!!!!! Don't tell anyone that I said this but, I think Silkie babies are so freakin' cute!

just hatched the first 4 americanas 9 mispelled) 4 outside line Black copper marans 8 copper marans of my eggs but had 42 two eggs to state with. maybe a cuple more will hatch

So I just candled (I'm on day 6) and it looks to me like only 5 of my 14 eggs are viable

I am so bummed out. I was hoping to keep at least 4 pullets out of this hatch. Maybe I'll just pick up some chicks at the feed store. Here are a couple of candling pictures that I took.

Seems that is all we can expect from shipped eggs.

I got 23 cortunix chicks. There are still 13 eggs left and they don't seem to be doing anything. I have 11 Bob White eggs I put in last night. I almost always add my eggs in the evening. Even if it's a day early. When I put eggs in the bator, it's usually after noon so I always put on my paperwork the following day's date.

AWWWWWWWW!!!! I am suffering from cute baby chick withdrawls! Thanks for sharing your photo's.

I candled last night on day 10, and took out a whole mess of eggs that weren't developing and had weird air sacs due to shipping I imagine. I'm left with our own 4 Crele OEGB's, and 4 BBS bantam cochins and 3 more maybe's on those. Started out with over 30 eggs!!!!

Ut-oh, I also bought some more BCM (they were on SALE), 6 Aracauna, and 22 silkie black/lav splits!!! Someone stop me! They should all be here this week. It's just too convenient when you have your credit card number memorized. At least when they come to repossess my house I will have awesome cutie pie chickens!

2 days till lock down can't wait!!!

The havobator has performed flawlessly...the temp and humidity have been spot on. I started with 45 eggs, culled 9 on day 10. I sure hope I get a good % on this 1st hatch.
