October Swap.......CLOSED.......

The tannish little ones were but the creamy little ones were the Mille Fluers. Don't worry I'll send you plenty later...
This is the Millies while they were still moulting...

And the baby BTB jap that hatched last Friday, still about the size of a golfball even now...

I love them, they are so much fun, and the Millies are the clowns of the flock. The male never shuts up...

Would you tell me a little more about the breeder pen you have pictured? I thought the elevated doghouse was a really clever idea--we have one large doghouse in the main chicken yard, and most of the hens lay their eggs there. But I'd never thought of using one as a "mini coop!" What do you have inside there? Any roosts, or just nesting material?

I just use pine shavings(they were laying their eggs in the shavings til I moved them)...I have recently moved the Millies in the big coop for the Winter until I get a door installed on their new wooden doghouse I bought from Lowes...This one except it was only 107.96 when I bought it. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=42252-60636-5208&lpage=none

The ducks now have the pen until I get their above ground coops built...They won't go in the doghouse though, they sleep either out on the ground or underneath in the brick enclosure.

Before the Millies had that pen, Raoul, Bess and Anna lived there since they were the only ones at the time allowed out to freerange. None of the chickens had a problem going through the flaps once they got used to them.

So has anyone's eggs hatched yet? Mine are due late tomorrow. I haven't candled since day 14, and they looked good.

Unfortunately the USPS did a number on my package and out of 6 I got 4 eggs and of those 2 were scrambled and of the 2 that were left I don't think I am going to get even one to hatch.

Mine are scrambled looking and no development...I was so looking forward to EEs too, been wanting some. I only have 2 LF and 1 bantam Ameraucanas(4 mos. old) and still don't know what sex they are.
