odd chicken behaviour

a couple of times a day for the last couple of months my chickens have been pecking the water bowl and back doors why do they do this.

Id guess its cos theres a reflection from both

I agree may be reflection, or it may be bugs are gathering on them...something that is appealing to peck at.

May be different reasons....if you have ever fed them out of that back door, then yes, they will begin to peck at it to get treats.

found out today that its because they want treats as they were pecking on back the 3 of them so i gave them some pork steak and they stopped pecking
