I'M new here so hey everyone,
Right my chickens are eating there eggs in the morning when we open up there coop,
They sorta run at it before you can get it and sometimes in the morning there is just shell remains.
So does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do ?

Give them a bowl of oyster shells (get it at the feed store)

They may need calcium.

Sorry for not replying! I left the computer up, but I was

out and about haha. Do you leave the oyster shell out all the

time? Do they have access to it at all times? Somtimes if

they accidentally step on an egg and break it, they just can't resist.

And it may start the habit. How big are the nesting boxes?

, it's out there all the time for them to peck at, it is like and urge for them sometimes to eat the yolk and whites when they see me open up :|
We have 2 nesting boxes, 1 is about 1.5ft cube and the other where they usually lay is about 3ft x 1.5ft and they seem to do the job

Mine are eating the shells completely even with grit and oyster shell out 24/7. I also take out bags of turnip greens about every other day to keep them in treats. Will be keeping an eye out for new posts for me too!
