I have a 5 week old Welsh Harlequin duckling (although she's so big she doesn't look like a duckling anymore!) named Sweet Pea, we named her this because she was so sweet! She was an absolute angel who enjoyed being held and cuddled, and still is for the most part, but has randomly started biting? One night I was laying down with her on my chest and suddenly she clamped down on my lip with her bill, twice! Then another time to my boyfriend, snapped at him between his eye and eyebrow.

Anyone know why this habit may have started and how to stop it? We usually just give her a light tap on the bill and say "no". Is it even possible to get her to stop?

Yea i think it's just trying to play with you or get your attention. What you're doing is right just be firm with him when you tell him to stop.

She is just exploring her limits and trying to figure out what is food and what itsn't. One of my ducklings went through a phase like that. If she bites again, you can gently hold her beak closed and say NO. She should get the message quickly.
