OEGB Hen??? Scruffy Tail Feathers....

I was given this little hen recently and wanted to know what she was..... Mixed? Purebred? Who knows LOL?

Don't laugh, but it bugs me so I'm going to ask....why are her tail feathers not rounded and nice and smooth at the end?

Did she live a rough life before or does she just need a bath???

Also why is her face black around the eyes etc.. instead of red?

What color hubby should I find to keep her company if I decide to go that route?

Not sure about the other questions but shes splash so I would find another splash or black or blue for a hubby.

She is a old english game splash is the color....as for her tail game sometimes can be hard on others, so it maybe from the other chickens...her face is dark like b/c she came from black/blue cross in oeg that is how you get splash.....she will be a good mom if you let her sett...

Chickens that have been in tight quarters once before will show tail damage from turning around and brushing their tail feathers up against wire and sometimes wood. I have two like this and its because they are low in the pecking order and at night they stay to the far corners of the pen where they feel safer from the more dominate ones.
