Off balance "drunk like" chick 4 weeks

Are you a speech teacher, by any chance? My son had a Mrs. Crabtree for speech when he was 4.

Only one is sneezing and she seems to be getting better with the oxytatracyclin. They are all getting antibiotics probiotics electrolytes and vitamins. Could it be too much for her? Shes alot smaller and doesnt seem to be getting bigger for 3 weeks old

The probiotics should come after the antibiotics are done.

My husband thinks its to much antibiotics for her but he also said there isnt and pribiotics in yhe water with the vitamins and antibiotics

im not im just about to be 24 but i know crabtree is a very common name. An no improvement on either chicks one is still sneezing runny eye and nose and her nose actually looks closed but the one that keeps falling over is still walking weird its like a duck waddle so improvement on either unfortunately i think we got a really bad batch of chicks with how many have gotten sick or died

Well he's 17 now (and speaks beautifully) so that would have made you a very young teacher!

Have you looked into testing to find out what your chicks have? I think that's your best bet for helping your flock. Some of these diseases can remain in a flock and cause illness or death for any new birds you bring in, and if you sell or rehome birds, you will spread it to others too. I do not think the breeder you got them from deserves a good reputation, as s/he is the most likely source of the disease, especially if these are your first chickens, and they have been off the ground in a brooder. Contact your state vet or university ag extension to see what kind of testing is available in your state. Since there are many large scale poultry operations in California, there is free necropsy service offered to backyard flock owners. If another chick dies, you can bag it and keep it in the fridge (not freezer) for a couple of days until you find where to send it. Without knowing, you should really keep a closed flock.

Thats what we are doing unfortately not many places to take chickens where im at and hubby just says if they die well get more :/ but no more till these are a least healed and in the coop
