Home from Lowes (plywood for the sides of the new coop and nest boxes). Think I'll go get a hard lemonade.

No wrap the breast meat around it like a ball.

So what do you do with the rest of the meat? I know, there's not much, but.....

I'd make quail stock with the skinned, gutted remains. the drumsticks are, well barbie sized, so i'd make stock with the remaining carcass, and use that in soups.

Little man syndrome? LOL I have an awesome recipe for cheese cake (it calls for 32oz of cream cheese). It takes a while to make though but it is sooooo worth it!

Mine is 24 oz of marscapone cheese (yes the tiramisu one).

imagining 48 hours of hatching a kid

84 hours of labor. which is why i don't tell pregnant women labor stories.

I always used to laugh at people who said things like that to me. I would look them in the eye with a big ole smile and say "I don't do things like that." If they still insisted it could happen I'd say "Not according to my mama, not in this family, sorry. If you really feel the need to argue this, go talk to her." You should see the look some people would get.

Honestly, it never even occured to me that it could happen. I just don't think that way. The glass is NEVER half empty, it's just needing a refill - and if you give me a minute I'll figure out how to make that happen.

"I'm just happy to have a glass, i'll find the faucet".

2X3X1 holds 6. Mine live on my patio, so they have a box to get out of the weather and hide if they want. We stack these on a shelf 3 tall, like rabbit cages. (now my rabbits like in 16sqft 2 level bunny palaces, but that's mostly to do with thier indoor pet status.)

So you incubate, wait two days and give them back to mama? Or do you just let her lay and hatch?

You must incubate and brood in a bator, quail don't go broody, so you have to hand raise. Once I have a hatch, 2 days later, I put the next batch of eggs in (gives 48 hours for late hatchers, and cleaning the bator).

I didn't know which I had to choose from. Mr saddi works on the 5th (saturday), but if you're available on the 6th, we could soap & bunny then.

I'm converting a wine cooler so I can have staggered hatches. Hmmm The DH really hates birds in the house so I've gotta figure out how to have them brood outside.

I had the brooder in the garage before, is that or a laundry room an option?
