Have you seen the recipes where they mix it in with oatmeal and nuts and whatever else you want to add? It sounds to die for. I always eat breakfast but I need something that is hardier.

Would most places selling chickens use this? Like Atwoods or Orshlands?

Actually, NPIP only certifies that the flock does not currently have Pullorum or Typhoid, not that they are healthy. It was created to protect the food supply many years ago, not for backyard flocks. Hatcheries are usually NPIP, but that doesn't mean they are mycoplasma-free at all, which is one of the most common diseases of backyard flocks. It has limited use for backyard flocks, IMO. Only the person raising the birds can be certified, not the distributor, like Tractor Supply or Atwood's.
