One of my friends had that sugery done, but she didn't have any complications. Your poor Aunt!

Today is Day 1 of summer vacation for my children. What have they spent the whole day playing? School.

At least they've been quiet.

My Old English Game Bantams have become egg eaters, so I spent Jacob's morning nap knocking together a roll-out nest box out of scrap wood for the little idiots. I hope it works.

The kids on the street are out, my two have 2 weeks left.... next year i'm making them start on Aug 15th with the other kids, so we don't have this end of year goofing off.

I had a wellie got all egg eatery on me and I had DH lop her head off. I'm mean. I don't have time for coddling. Ifi t was a hen with a name then sure, I'd have taken some time, but this one has been nothing but a pain from day one so out she goes.

Aug 15?! At my kids' school its Sept 7-ish till May 25. And that's in a town where we use legitimate snow days!

does it make you feel like you should send them back?

On one hand, I like not having to get up and get them ready for school. On the other hand, I'm going to miss the hours of peace and quiet.

there's alot of 1/2 days where they get out at lunch, a week at thanksgiving, easter, president's day, 3 at christmas....

Since the 2 weeks for testing is mandated in may, they keep pushing back the school year so they can get an extra few weeks to prep the kids (who know nothing not on the darn test, my 1st grader knows more world history than the 6th graders he plays with).
