It IS a big deal! I have 1,2,3,4,5. 5! Green or blue layers, (ah a a a a a) and I havent seen a green/blue egg in 3 weeks. No joke. I also have 4 or 5 teenagers who should be laying green eggs, but so far, they are playing the "too young" card.

I broke down and put a florescent light on a timer in their coop. We're down to close to 8 hours a day of light here.

But I have 13 chicks in the brooder and 17 ducks eggs in the bator. And we bought some OEG's this weekend as well as call ducks. This little teeny tiny rooster is too funny for words.

I have LED christmas lights on a timer. Since they only use 80% of the electricity of last year's regular lights, I can put up two, right?

I need the lights more in the summer. It is still 95 degrees at midnight, so I need the lights to get anything done out there!

Does he have the little "Beeep bo beeeep!!!" crow?

Debi - what is that disturbing looking thing floating in the pond behind the ducks?!

Your rooster is adorable.

Laree, sounds like you need to visit here in the summer, and I need to visit there in the winter. I'm sure we could arrange something...if we could just find chickensitters...
