The Super saddles are cute! Where do you get them from? Are they expensive?

I don't really need saddles, but I'm not sure I can make a diaper that is sturdy and has a leash attachement. I want to be able to put a couple of sillkies on diaper/ leashes and take them places. Not to mention Oscar...

Since the egg is green and black and made me think or Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street, I though it would be a good temporary name. Batty will think of something more clever, but for now I am calling it Oscar the Emu Egg. DD thinks I'm nuts, but is fervently hoping it hatches!


Orchy, I hear tales of spouses that allow chicks in the bathroom and dining room. So I am much tamer in comparison and yet I still get little encouragement. I can dream, though...

I got them from LoveMyChix on here.....I have gotten quite a few saddles from her before. Always gets em shipped out quick too! Regular saddles are pretty cheap (like $3 each, I think). The superchicken saddles were $7, I think. Way more work, so understandable. The picture is a harness version not the actual saddle. Which is why it has the ring on the back. She also makes diapers of all sizes.

I actually took one of her saddles and had my sister duplicate it......my sister's saddles turned out just the same and very cute, but once you count the cost of the fabric, denim backing, elastic and snaps....you're lucky to break even and they are a lot of work. For $3 per saddle, can't beat that.


I told my boyfriend I wanted to get an emu. He said "do it". HA ha ha ha. I also told him I wanted a mini-cow and he said NO. And then the next day he said "You should get a mini cow". And I said "no, I want goats". He said "get both".

This relationship could be dangerous.

He doesn't take care of/ live with the animals, so it's easy for him to be an enabler.

The lowest low on the next 10 day outlook is 24. The lowest high is 36. I can sooooo live with that! And there are several high 40 days in the mix as well. Pretty bad when 'normal' temps seem luxurious! I am hoping that these temps and longer daylight encourage my 12 slacker hens and my 8 POL pullets to get their act toghether and earn their keep. After all, I still have Beaner's spare bator

Yes, if we lived together that would be another story. Although he still wouldn't be taking care of the animals. That's "my thing". He takes care of his cigars and his video games. That's "his thing".

Sigh.

I like your chicken make over bean....now I think you need to paint it the same color as your house....then add a couple of daisy's on the new base board you put up to make it look "homey."

That was the original plan. Back in the day when it was just a shed that was falling apart that I was repurposing as a chicken coop. I was going to paint it to match the house. Which would be a tan/beige color with white and green. And I was going to add a window box with flowers.
