One more question/comment then I'm off to bed......
What in the name of all that is holy is everyone's current obsession with dunking their hatching eggs in water? Are we too dang lazy to candle? And really, is this effective????? How 1 do you really know if the egg is good and growing and 2 how do you think you aren't adding too much water to a day 18 eggs??
Maybe I'm not "hep" to the new fad, but it just seems pretty darn dumb to me.

The dunking thing (it was explained to me) came about as a way to test quail eggs and everyone started using it to test everything. Personally, I worry that you could drown them.
Someone even tested emu eggs that way. I won't be
