He would have had to write a script, and apply it to the forum as a whole. Which is probably why he cant trim this one down, specifically.

Blah blah blah........

Hey Laree, how is it people add water to their incubators and then say they "dry" incubate? Am I the only one not understanding the logic there?

If you walk on the sidewalk it greatly cuts down the likelihood though.

It does. But there is no sidewalk in the industrial park where our building is. So I live dangerously.

No, the burka does not have to be worn inside the coop.

THere was a thread on this recently....

but it is so dry here, I end up "dry incubating" no matter how much water I add. I think the whole "Dry" technique refers specifically to a hatch with a low level of humidity, ~35%.

Unless you are being sarcastic, and then my answer is "Yeah, totally."

It would be the thread I'm referring to.......

"When you dry incubate, which I do, the first 18 days are when the incubation is "dry"............ Every couple of days, I partially fill a small container of water and it evaporates over a day or two..........."

How is adding water dry incubating?

I thought is was no water added until lockdown deal.

Anyway, that's what I do when the bator is in the garage. You have to have ambient humidity for a 'dry' hatch to work....

But what if you have roos in with the hens?

It's cool as long as they are accompanied by a relative.

It is not. The person is totally wrong.

That's NORMAL incubation....

AHHHHH! But "I do not check humidity in my incubator at all anymore........... I have looked at the hygrometer a couple of times and it said 22%. "

Clearly, looking and checking are NOT the same thing.
