She looks so fresh and pretty on her head.Yeah. She was a bit itchy and yanking feathers out. She is a bit impatient. She already starting to look pretty again. She is getting her head feathers in.

This molt contest is for "other fowl". The Chicken Molt contest is here.My one Amberlink hen, she's molted the worst so far and the only one that's noticeable. Even her underside looks the same. She started about 3 weeks ago when I was going through something very stressful. She's one of my 3yr olds.

My muscovy aren't molting yet either. My turkeys are working on it, my geese are done, and my chickens haven't started yet either. Every year is different. This year's molts are running late.Ok, I’ve got to pass along the message to my girls that IT’S TIME! The only one who has done any molting yet has been my white Muscovy, who only lost the top layer of chest and abdomen feathers, leaving her down, which made her exceptionally soft and fluffy for a bit. Everyone else is still hanging on to their old worn-out feather suits!

It's that time of year again where our birds start their metamorphosis into... well, okay, they don't turn into anything, but it sure is interesting to see them go through their molting process and leaving feathers all over the place!

How to enter
The contest is simple, post pictures of your birds in the worst part of their molt. Once we're past the molting season our esteemed panel of judges will pick a loser... er... winner!

The rules are simple too:
Good luck to you and your ugly... er.. molting other fowl!
- Must be your other fowl (turkey, peafowl, duck, guinea fowl, quail, etc., anything but a chicken). Chickens can enter the Chicken Molt Contest.
- No picture limit, post as many pictures of your bird as you want.
- If you have more than one bird to enter, do them in separate posts.
- Must be your pictures.
- ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
- Molt pictures submitted to our previous molt contests are not eligible for this contest.
- Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
- All BYC rules apply: Terms and rules
- Accepting entries through December 31st at 11:59 pm Pacific Time

PrizesIf entries warrant, we will have two categories, "Galliformes" and "Anseriformes" and the following prizes will be awarded to both categories.
