This fluff ball is now 9 months old.

We got her for free at 6 weeks old (we later found out it’s best not to take a pup from it’s momma before 8 weeks but she’s fine and healthy). She was born early March, we got her mid April.

We kept the name Coco which is what her parents’ owners had named her.

She barks at everything. She’s so used to me being home at night that on the rare occasion that I go out and return alone she thinks I’m a stranger and wants to attack until I talk to her then she’s like ohhhh

She is half Labrador Retriever and half German Shepherd.

She is great with my kids. Very weary of strangers.

Those eyes! I wouldn't be able to tell her no!

A friend bugged me to get him from the pound. She swore dogs weren’t expensive. She couldn’t have dogs where she lived.

She helped me name him when we saw a moving truck pass by as I was driving that said Ryder

The pound said he was a year old in 2014 when I adopted him, so that would make him 49 years old today in human years or is that called dog years?

I was told he was half Labrador Retriever and half Rottweiler, but he’s pretty short to be a mix of those two breeds. He’s around 50 lbs.

His skill is evading the dog catcher. We let him roam freely. He has a collar now unlike in the pic. He loves going to the neighborhood in front of our property even though he has acres to run and explore in. (I think they feed him there cuz he’s a sausage even though I don’t overfeed him)

This is our beautiful girl Emi!
We bought her from an Akita breeder, before Emi we had an old girl that, for many years was our house/guard dog, she looked like a sister to Emi, but she became so old and eventually passed, and we like having a guard dog in the house, and it also made the loss easier by bringing a new puppy into the family.

She knows a couple of tricks, she can sit up and can catch food in her mouth, but what she is best at, is being a guard dog, she has a fenced-in area on our property, anytime someone drives up the gravel driveway, she barks so loud you can hear her from inside the house, and she loves her family!

Her breed is the majestic American Akita!
Fun fact! The Akita is a large and powerful dog breed with a noble and intimidating presence. They were originally used for guarding royalty and nobility in feudal Japan. These dogs also tracked and hunted wild boar, black bear, and sometimes deer. The Akita does not back down from challenges and does not frighten easily.

I am sorry for the long entry, but I couldn't resist!:p

lol, It sounds like he knows the lay of the land and precisely where to go for treats!

This is Avery, my 1 year old Yellow Lab puppy. I got her for Christmas last year. Today marks my one year anniversary of having her, actually. She was 7 weeks old when I got her. She is so awesome and smart. I trained her myself. Her father was an English Lab and her mother was an American Lab, so she has the best of both worlds imo. She is super light, like her dad. She's stull considered a yellow lab but is almost totally white in color. She knows all of the basic commands, Sit, Stay, Come, No, Off, Down, Sit up, Leave it, Bed, and Kennel up. She also knows all of the following basic hunting commands. Heel up, Look, Find it, Back, Over, Close, Mark, the release command ("Ok", in most instances), Live bird (she knows she's looking for a bird that's going to try to get away and to be ready and fast, as opposed to "Dead Bird" which means she only needs to find it and bring it back. She knows it's not going to put up a fight.)
and Dead Bird. She knows Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Heel up, Back, Over, Close, and Sit up (sitting back up from the laying down position, not a typical command but one I taught for ease of working her) by both only hand signals, only whistle signals, and voice commands. I can put her through all of those commands without uttering a single word.
She's awesome. She knew Sit, Stay, Come, and down with hand/voice commands by the time she was 10 weeks old.
Anyway, here is her photo entry. :)
This was after doing her favorite thing for her birthday, working her in water.

Bears don't qualify for entries. Oh wait, THAT'S A DOG?! lol, She's super cute. We used to watch our neighbors Akita because they didn't have a fenced in yard and he needed space to run. He was almost as tall as my husband when he put his paws on his shoulders! They're definitely great guard dogs!

Thank you, my mother and nana used to breed and show them for around 15 years, but breeding gets too expensive and it is hard to find trusting homes anymore... Some of the puppies they sold, ended up coming back to them.
But that was years ago, the ones we kept have all passed now, all but one male that she bred, Jake, he recently lost his sister last year, so it is just him now, and I have become his caretaker! He is twelve and still living! Sadly, he was blind young, but it doesn't bother him any! This photo is not an entry!
