Thank you, he was a very special and spoiled boy. He earned his name at about 6 weeks old when he would totally relax and stretch out. We joked he was showing off his drumsticks to flaunt us. My daughter at the time was also in the band playing drums so the name stuck.

Thank you. It will be 3 years in August that I lost this special boy. I have his son, and several of his daughters and granddaughters but they are not my Drummie. This is his 3 year old son Bubba.

Drumstick was coming in to his prime when he was taken by a Coyote. It is hard sometimes to look at Bubba and wonder what his daddy would look like now.

These entries will be judged according to the basic principles of the Standard; e.g. quality of feather, clarity of colour, balance of shape, correctness of comb, and how well they represent their breed.

Since there are no Standards of Perfection for poultry not recognized by APA or ABA, this category will be judged based on the overall condition of the birds and the quality of the photos. Clear, focused, well-lit photos of a well-posed bird in good condition will score higher.

Clear, focused images with the bird in a good pose is best—we recommend at least one clear side profile, along with some closeups, such as the bird held with its wings spread or an image from the front to show leg stance. We ask that you limit the number of pictures per entry to five to make things easier on our judges.

The Standard-Bred Chicken Show is a judged photo contest.

To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.

Rules:
  1. Four entries per member. One entry per post, please.
  2. An entry is 1-5 pictures of your chicken.
  3. Include one photo that shows the entire left or right side of the bird (head, beak, feet, and tail).
  4. In your entry, please include the following:
    • Breed
    • Color
    • Sex
    • Age
  5. Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
  6. No screenshots, watermarks, date stamps, text, etc., on the photo. No collages.
  7. The photo needs to have been taken by you.
  8. You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
  9. High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
  10. ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
  11. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
  12. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
  13. Entries will be accepted until August 25th, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is APA and ABA mean? And what do you mean by not recognised etc?
