Ended Official BYC Article Writing Contest #13

I'd love to, but I don't really know what the difference is... I've always used forced air.
Since @Kiki said this:
I think someone should do an article on incubation mistakes and helpful hints.
It made me think of one of the most common mistakes, and that is people incubating at 99.5 with still air incubators. The second most common one is too high humidity.

Now that we've covered why temperature is so important, let's talk about what it should be. This will actually depend on the type of incubator you're using. If your incubator is forced air, meaning it has a fan in it that is blowing the air around to keep the temperature equalized throughout the incubator, you will want your temperature to be 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit/37.5 degrees Celsius. If your incubator is still air, meaning it does not have a fan, you want your temperature to be 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit/38.6 degrees Celsius measured at the top of the eggs.

I would love to have something to point people to, you know, sort of a "quick start" guide to incubation. Short and sweet...
That was the aim of the two guides that I wrote for my quail customers. I published them both here. I have an article that I want to submit here, but I'm waiting for a couple more pictures to complete it.

I could do that as well. These are all awesome ideas that I want to try. I’m working on 3 different articles, one that’s really really long and two that are medium sized (one of which is the one @Kiki suggested with the mistakes and solutions with incubating) so I’m fully booked rn 😂

How about "Incubating for Beginners," or "Beginner's Guide to Hatching Your Own Chickens," since "for Dummies" is probably protected. @Corbdee, having considered incubating chickens for a while but been afraid to, I have not thought to look at quail articles for info. 🤔

Also, if there isn't one already, would someone write a good article on the treatment of bumblefoot in chickens?
