It takes your heart rate, weight, BMI (if you know your BMI to input it--no real accurate way to obtain it on your own--ideally you'd get that from your doctor, but gyms sometimes have the grab-handle things to give you a guess), your sex, age, step count, and gives you a pretty good estimate of your calorie burn through the day.
You can use the calorie calculator on the Fitbit app to watch things like total calories eaten, protein, carbs, fat, salt, iron, +++. You can also download the My Fitness Pal app and connect that to your Fitbit app (follow the instructions--very easy, even for me). I much prefer the My Fitness Pal app, but it's been a long time since I used the Fitbit one.
If you wear it to bed, it can analyze your sleep surprisingly well.
It will vibrate on the hours you set it up for, to remind you to get up and move if you have logged fewer than 250 steps in that hour.
It can recognize certain exercises and automatically give you an analysis of your calorie burn for (say) a bike ride or a jog, etc.
It can give you a (partial) readout of text messages on-screen and vibrate to signal phone calls on your cell.
There are other things as well, but you likely won't use all of them. I have a Charge 2. I looked at the 3, but there didn't seem to be enough difference to convince me to buy a new one. I have to charge this one more often, but it's not a big deal yet.
If you want fryers, process them before they start crowing. If you're okay with cooking low & slow or pressure cooking, keep them around as long as you like unless they cause trouble.
are you a member of our byc buddies fitbit group yet??? if not, you should definitely join and give one of us your friend request or email so you can join in challenges!
i haven’t worn my wedding band in years for similar reasons and that it not a good idea with my profession.....BUT since getting and wearing fitbit, it’s like a part of my body and i miss it when it’s off charging!! (but maybe that’s because i’m from a generation that wore watches??)That’s a lot of stuff! Thanks. Hmm I wonder if I’ll wear it to bed or not. I guess I’ll try it out and see if it’s comfortable, I’m not used to wearing stuff on my hands. I don’t even wear my wedding ring because I refuse to resize it. (It was a size 4 but after pregnancy that is not my finger size anymore).
i always tried to wait u til 16 weeks to process cockerels but they can become ANNOYINGThey barely turned 10 weeks and are already crowingis that too late for frying? Either way imma try to process them tomorrow. I have too many chicks and teenage chicks and grown chickens. I need to downsize and eat.
If you decide to get a new band for your fitbit, I like the metal mesh ones--not Fitbit make--theirs are ridiculously expensive. Get aftermarket ones on Amazon. The included bands irritate my skin because I sweat under them. That’s a lot of stuff! Thanks. Hmm I wonder if I’ll wear it to bed or not.
