Ended Official BYC Contest - Post your best broody and babies pic and win!

Here's one of my Silkie crosses that went broody this spring.
I love that she seems to be smiling at her chicks all the time!

She's one of the sweetest hens and was so good with the OEGB chicks she hatched.

Here's a pic of the first 3 Silkie cross sisters that hatched OEGB chicks.
I removed them from the nest boxes and amalgamated them and their chicks together in the bottom of the brooder.
They co-parented the chicks and didn't fight at all...lol. This is their first time being broody.

I was trying to take a pic of the two chicks that were peeking out from the wing...but just as I snapped the photo the one chick pulled its head back into the wing.
I was surprised when I saw the other little guy peeking out from between the two hens when I loaded it to my computer...lol.

Thank you. The chicks are SO incredibly fun and interesting to watch.
And I'm new to the whole broody thing.
I was really, really lucky I caught that moment.
(I'm sure I'd be wondering what was on her head too...lol)

Hey, Wicked... I keep just missing you on threads, lol... :)

My Sebright hatched some Orpington eggs. The chicks grew larger than mama before 4 wks old, but that never stopped her from caring for them. I laughed nightly as I saw her trying to cover her giant babies. She cared for them for 7 wks until she started laying again. I love the expression on the hen & as well as the chicks pancaked beneath her.
I love this picture!!!! I love your lil Sebright hen .

@sumi-
I hope I'm not too late to play. Olive-Egger Cleo, first time broody hatched two eggs; one Easter-Egger and one Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.

Looks like she's telling them a story or giving instructions.

I'll give the late entrants a bit more time to enter. When I see the entries drying up, we'll get a deadline and get started on the judging.
