Looks to me like the one dog you have takes up a fair share of space B

<sigh>. I know, I know.....but I saw some at an exhibition show oh, probably about 1979 or so, (I might have the year wrong, but I do remember that they weren’t accepted into the Miscellaneous Class in the AKC yet) and they were so perky. All 3 of them watched their owner and were totally prepared to turn themselves inside out if she even whispered the command. Folks think Goldens and Border Collies are eager to please? I’d never seen anything like these little show offs! :lau I LOVE your hobby!

Like many others here, I love taking photos! I’ve been interested in photography since I was around 11 or so and I got my Nikon d3200 when I was 12. I love submitting my photos into competitions, most of them student competitions because I’m only 15. I take lots of pics of my chickens and I take my camera with me everywhere.

I love all these hobbies!

So I LOVE to bake. I actually have some homemade croissants going in the oven right now! I really like to bake French stuff, I went to France last October and I have been inspired! (Thus the croissants) I had this dessert called “ispahan” when i was there and then i recreated it at home (there’s also a strawberry tart)View attachment 1582430

I also make really good French macarons, it took me quite a bit of time to perfect those, super fun to play with flavors, so far i have tried lavender and honey, strawberry, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and rose water.View attachment 1582434

I don’t have any good pictures of them all put together currently, I guess i’ll Just have to make them again:idunno. I enjoy making cakes but I only make those for occasions, the last cake I made was a lemon chiffon cake, lemon cake, lemon curd filling, lemon Italian meringue buttercream!

Okay, I have to tell you about my obsession with chocolate. Over the summer I took a class at the institute of culinary education in NYC, on bean to bar chocolate. We made chocolate from a bean and I went home with ten bars of good quality chocolate. So now I am saving up my money to buy a chocolate melanger (for crushing the cocoa beans), If anyone else is interested in this topic I reccomend the book Bean to Bar chocolate by Megan Giller, she helped teach ther chocolate class!

Here are some more pics of my baking:

That's stunning Sally :thumbsup

Hope you'll show us the coffee soap (love me some coffee...in any form)!
Hazelnut Java and Creamy Lilac. I also made more honeysuckle but forgot the pic. Nothing special as both those were for the hen soaps so I made those and a single loaf of each while I had the mess going on.

Sorry my cell sucks

So my hobby is obvious given my screen name. I have loved fishing since I was a kid, from stream fishing for trout to pond fishing for blue gills and chasing bigger fish as I got older. Husband and I have gotten boats of many types and sizes over the past 16 years and our latest is finally big enough to share trips with multiple other people at a time. We camp every weekend and a couple of vacation weeks near the shores of lake Erie where we chase walleye, we fish the lower Potomac river and Chesapeake bay a couple times a year when visiting family and friends and the Atlantic seaboard (near shore so far, no overnight offshore trips yet) once or twice a year when visiting boating friends further south.
Best thing about the hobby hasn't been the 'free' fish (scaredy how fast expenses can add up! LOL).... it has been the time spent with friends and family while chasing them! With our latest boat we have expanded our trips to include folks from a disabled veterans group we have been involved in. They usually stream fish but many expressed interest in boating so we have been taking them out for walleye 2 at a time. I think 22 lake erie trips in the last couple of years. Most rewarding trips wehave ever done, hands down!
A few pictures from our adventures...

I will start with one of my own hobbies!

My Hobby #1
44849640_1967488186676655_4824361219693477888_n.jpg

We all know chicken math right? Yep, been there done that, well I moved on to goat math, that’s right my love for Nigerian dwarf goats and their milk drove my math skills up to an advanced class!
I enjoy my goats so much, they are almost like dogs, but less work.

I began milking after our first stressful kidding, everything went well it was the newbie thing and I stressed myself out with the unknown! It wasn’t long after I fell in love with these little kids as well as the goat milk.

I had way too much milk, I was giving it away and even to people to feed to their meat chickens to help fatten them up quicker! I learned how to make wonderful chocolate pudding pies, cajeta a fantastic mexian carmel, fudge is always amazing, yogurt is delish too! I made a few cheeses and that really started to use the milk quickly, and just as quick I realized I am no cheesemaker! Just wasn’t for me, so I thought,“well I can try soap”. And I did!

Goat Milk soap is amazing soap! I had never used goat milk soap before and it was such a difference I couldn’t believe it! So I started to research and take notes. We all know how I can take some notes!  Anyway, I bought book after book, whodathunk I would learn chemistry in the process! I educated myself on healthy skin and on and on….

I started to get addicted to making soap so I gave a few bars away and quickly they had asked for more and more, and then their friends and family wanted to try it as well, and that’s how and why I started Lil Swatara Soap LLC. It is now a business and with the holidays quickly coming up I am putting way too many hours into making and packing soap but it is quickly paying off!
