Fun! That looks like latch hook rug making rather than crocheting. Nice to see another Hooker here.

Yep, latch hook rugs! One year I made one for everyone's Christmas gift. My grandfather put his on the back of his chair and kept it there for years.

Even I have done latch hook rugs. I made the frame for this one from an old weathered oak pallet that I stripped the boards from.

I love that even more now! It reminds me of the pregnancy annoucement I did for our little surprise 3rd baby - I put all (our boys were 13 and 8 at the time) our empty shoes in a semi circle with a little pair of crocheted booties I made in the middle. Just found the pic (not with the words - i wrote something along the lines of 'new baby on his way - due in December' type thing.
