Official BYC Poll: How many chickens do you have?

We are at 140 and counting. Last year we were over 300. We have just started into hatching season for us so it wont take long to get back up over 300 but that is counting chicks also. Of the 140, about half of those are named pets.

At the moment I have 6 hens and 1 little chick that I think is a Sultan. The egg came from a friend for my broody. She's happy now with her 1 foster chick.

However..... <drum roll> today I ordered 33 day old chicks from Welp. See thread "Oh boy, what have I done?", under stories of me and my chickens.

Now I have to wait until they arrive, next week!

I have 4 ladies! Planning to build a bigger coop next spring, so I think that number will go up a little...okay maybe it will double...

hmm.... 21 initial order from Ideal, including 2 guineas, added 6 more gunieas, 2 Marans, 2 speckled sussex, 15 packing peanuts, 8EE's, 2 Delawares, 10 various Reds in the adult laying flock... adding 3 Silkie chicks this afternoon, and probably some more within the next few months...

Four at the moment, three pullets and a rooster who was supposed to be a pullet. But I admit it - I'm hooked. My father in law is my cohort in crime, he's been not-so-subtly hinting around to hubby that he needs to build a bigger coop next year so we can get more chickens.
