I have covered my runs and wrapped all sides with wire that has openings small enough to keep birds out. I have convinced my wife to move all her bird feeders to the front yard and the side near the garden area. The chickens have access to the surrounding acreage but not these two smaller areas, which they seem to have learned to be content with. The one thing my wife is not so content with is having to debug and weed the garden herself and wait for me to come carry it all to the outside fence for the chickens to investigate.Avian influenza (avian flu or bird flu) is a disease caused by infection with avian influenza type A viruses. These viruses spread naturally among wild waterfowl worldwide and can infect domestic poultry and other bird and animal species. Avian influenza viruses do not normally infect humans.
