There are large fowl Silkies in the UK. But none in the U.S. yet.

I have A Silkie "Mum" and Silkie Dad - Mum has so far only hatched one girl and eight boys!!! The female died when she was five months old and it was heartbreaking - she developed a cold and despite antibiotics from the vet she didn't make it - I still mourn her - she was my first born here. Mum has four more babies at the moment and I can only hope that she has at least one girl - all of mine are white and I am so jealous of the pics on here of all the others - those splash and reds are amazing!

I cannot determine the sex of them until they either start crowing or Silkie Dad takes and interest in them (in a way that determines their sex)

They are now one month old and are as big as a normal sized chick - sooo cute...... all of my friends comment on how cute they are and we have no problem in rehoming our male Silkie chicks - I JUST WANT ONE OR TWO GIRLS !!!!

Silkies are by far the best - I have over 60 chickens here of various breeds but my Silkies are so very special and loving too!

Just got 2 mystery color silkies. I think their blues but not sure. One is a mutant because it's fifth toe is branching off of another toe. I know he's a male because he crows in the morning, he has spur buds and is larger than the other one. His name is Smoky. The other silkie has no fifth toe at all. We think it's a girl because she's smaller than the other doesn't crow and doesn't have a spur bud. Silkies are just SO cute. I hope we have a pair. They are just pet quality since Smoky has his fith toe in the wrong place and lots of light skin stripes on his feet and Berry has no fifth toe and has light skin on her feet and the tip of her beak. But I don't really care about show quality since I don't much enter shows because most of my chickens will be mutts anyway. I hope we have a pair

I have some very sad news!
My favorite Buff Silkie Chick was dead this morning ... smooshed flat with blood on her neck!!!!

And my other two silkie chicks aren't doing so good either!!!
