I have a feeling that I won't be following just one path but never know. I might just find my nitch on one path. I'm excited to see where I end up.
I'll be getting in touch with my friend's mentor, who is Faery/Wiccan, and see if she can help me get started. I have soooo many questions. In the meantime, I'll be doing a lot of reading.

EEEEEEEEEEEEW! Hope ya'll find a place where you are able to find people of like minds and beliefs.

Cindi for me it is not about finding like minded people, it is about finding people of my faith with open minds. Very rare in the Christian faith. The passage at the end of Matthew that tells us to go amongst the people and share our faith, means just what I am doing right now. However, most think it means "recruiting" people. I am not about that. I am about acceptance, as long as it doesnt include animal or human sacrifice. That is where I draw the line. Me speaking of my faith fulfills that requirement in my book. I would rather have friends that would sit next to me in jail hugging me, than ones that turn their back because I screwed up.

Debs, wouldn't you perfer they show up with bail instead?

A friend bring bail money, a true friend is the one next to you saying "Wow that was quite a ride".

And out here that isn't very hard to do.

Goddess Blessings to all the celabrate the Irish Goddess Brigit.

Today is Imbolc(Ireland) Feb 1 or Cnadlemas(Europe) also celabrated on Feb 2. Feb 1 is the traditional first day of Spring in Ireland which is why Brigit festival is held today.

Brigit is an Celtic Irish Goddess of fire. One should light a candle or fire to honor Her on these two days. Or you can light it for the next 19 days in Honor of Her and Her festival rites. The number 19 is sacred to Her.

Brigits song for acient time: "Brigit, excellent woman, sudden flame, may the bright fiery sun take us to the lasting kingdom."

Brigit has been turned into a saint of the christians. Her rituals still hold sway in Ireland and over most of europe. Although Her attendents are now nuns instead of Preistesses.

Many Blessings to all on this most Holy day...

Great Goddess Brigid we welcome you back from your slumber,
Thank you Great One for protecting us, your children through the Dark and Cold of the Winter,
Thank you for reminding us that although you leave us for a time we are never far from you,
Oh Great Mother wrap us in your warm embrace and comfort us throughout the last days of Winter,
Your arrival reminds us that the wheel has turned once again and New Life is just around the corner,
Please Blessed Brigid, Lift our Spirits and Prepare us for the return of your Consort in the Spring,
Lift our Spirits and be with us , In love we call upon we , Blessed Be !!!!!!!!!

We lit qa candle at dawn and were thrilled that the moon was still full enough to see by.

Snow on the ground, a warm fire, the smell of baking bread and my loving family around - what could be better!?

it's Gŵyl Fair y Canhwyllau (festival of Mair/Mary of the Candles) in Wales today... so Gŵyl Fair y Canhwyllau Llawen, Imbolc Shona, and Merry Brigit's Day to you all

Merry Whispers of Spring, all! It is an energy-filled time. One of my hens, at 39 weeks, laid her first egg last Sunday. Then yesterday, the hen who's been in a slow molt for 3 months, began laying again! For the first time, the entire flock is laying... snugly synced to the big wheel that keeps on turning.

LOL! Sounds like I may be a paganistic Christian. One thing I will never doubt is that Jesus was born of a virgin birth for the sole purpose of giving us humans a path to forgiveness. He died for us so that we may live. I will never doubt that. Hoever, apparently, I have alot to leasrn!!!

Something very interesting i have recently been reading up on is the fact that all major religions have a Dying God of Virgin Birth who Sacrafices himself for OUR sins.. The Mesopatamiens, the egyptians . the celts, the christians and even the old style Jews... I feel that just like with the Gods all being One Being, That Christ/Marduk/Enlil and many other Dying Gods are the same as well.. They are the Human representatives of God... I feel that the Gods can take human form to exact great change in our world.. The same can be said for the Great Flood you can look at most all Relegions and find a similar Flood Story.. I personally feel that the reason we have so many dieties is because We can ALL have a part of God that we realte to better.. They are all the same God/Goddess just in deifferent forms for our Human minds to comprhend.. That IMO is why their are so many similarities in relegions...

Hope that makes sense my brain is still a lil slow this morning...

That is what I believe also. You put it very well. Thank you so much for starting this thread. I haven't made it through all the pages yet, but I am learning so much.

It might seem strange but to me it is freeing to realize that I don't have to be follow any particular faith. It is also ironic that I spent so many years(43 to be exact!) searching for somewhere that I belonged only to realize that I might have been pagan all along!

I am very, very new to all of this, but I like Wicca because of the rede. It seems very fair to me.
