Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

We had someone when I was growing up, had a vendetta against an almond orchard owner. The person posted an ad for "free firewood, entire orchard must go, you cut and haul", something like that..........the poor guy lost tons of perfectly good almond trees

This one I understand so very well...

Many many years ago, when Spook and Mrs. Spook
were once very young...we were fighting over some
dumb thing (I don't remember, but it had to be her fault)
and I went to work.

And while I was at work, she sold my car for a whole $50.00.
A green Volkswagon Rabbit. I had just bought it a few weeks
prior, and we put it in her name.

....and that was the last time I put a car in my wifes name.

Spook

I had some experience with the Rabbit. You are lucky she sold it. Probably didn't feel like it at the time, but you were.

Free couch! It is extremely heavy and, although it is a bit worn, it is definitely sturdy. Wood base. Cheesy patterned couch cushions. We've covered it time after time with different slip covers, comforters, whatever... but hey, it's FREE!

This comes from a smoke-free, flea-free, roach-free, nasty-ness free home!
We do have a dog (not for sale)... but she's not nasty - just lazy. Lol!

Feel free to contact me! You must pick up! Or we can deliver for a fee - $10. First person takes it!

I don't think the crowing hens are good layers. I would think that the hormones responsible for the crowing would supress egg laying.
I had a Serama hen that crowed. I only found out that she did when I had her in the house raising a batch of chicks that she had hatched. Startled the daylights out of me the first time I heard her do it! I never heard her crow when she was with the rooster; it seemed it was only when she was without the bigmouth roo that she felt the need to "mark her territory" by crowing. I'm thinking this might be what's going on with the craigslist hen, too. Sometimes the dominant hen crows, particularly in a flock without a rooster. I doubt the neighbors would accept "it's a hen - she the egg she just laid?" as a reason to keep it, since the noise is the reason for the ban on roosters in the first place. Anybody who'd be hoping to get fertile eggs if they get this "rooster" is going to be disappointed.

We have a production red hen who crowed once. We have 5 roosters.... Freaked me out. Haven't heard her do it since, but she hangs out with our original crew (she was part of this years hatchery order) and is always first to investigate so def dominant hen. It was a sad crow, too. More like 'I have a rock in my throat' crow. But she lays fine. I like manly girls, lol. I like spurred hens and crowing Hens!
