I do not telephone anyone after 9 pm. I don't like calls before nine in the morning either. I used to have a friend that frequently called me very early in the morning. I am not, nor have I ever been, a morning person. My requests that she call later fell on deaf ears. She was up and awake before six am and she figured the rest of the world was, too. I finally cured her. I started calling her after 10 at night. She didn't appreciate that one bit. She finally got the message though and started calling me later in the day.

Chicken farmers/ranchers... That's the middle of the day...

No, that's NOT the middle of the work day for ANYONE....it's about 2 hours after the start of the work day, not the middle.   The  middle of a farmer's work day is around 2 pm.  Especially during harvest times.

I call people after 9 pm. Kids don't go to bed until 8 or 8:30, so if you want to have an adult conversation you have to call after 9. However, I NEVER call after 10 pm and never call a Sr Citizen (waves at Rancher) after 9. They need all the beauty rest they can get.

I had to do that to my sister when I worked noc shift. I'd work 11p-7am, sleep from 8am-4pm. She'd call me on her lunch break, noon, "just to chat". Well, I called her on MY lunch break, 2am, "just to chat". Only took once, we're fairly fast learners.
