I mean that would make more sense then having 20 chickens and getting 26 eggs everydayI was also thinking that every hen doesn’t lay every day. Maybe he has 30 hens and gets 26 eggs. That would even be a stretch in my mind.

Agreed. Like maybe, just maybe, he's accidentally saying 20 instead of 30?I mean that would make more sense then having 20 chickens and getting 26 eggs everyday![]()
x2. Our leghorn occasionally laid 2 eggs per day. Definitely not a normal thing - maybe 2-3xs in her whole life. She also had to be culled at 3.5 years due to reproductive issues.Ok, my sense of it all is this: Let's take a top laying chicken like a Pearl White Leghorn, put her in the right temperature with 24/7 light, and within a 24 hour period, it is possible for her to lay two eggs in that time. Off of that, she won't be able to do that every day. If she does say, lay an egg this day, two eggs the next, then her one egg the day after that; she is heading for serious health issues down the road. Like a lot of high production birds, she most likely will get things like water belly and other reproductive problems.
So out of that information, if that guy has 20 hens and is getting 26 eggs a day, he might have that Leghorn's setup with top layers. It's extremely unhealthy for the hens and all, but if that's what he is doing, that's how he's getting that amount. I still see it as unreasonable, especially because that quote is assuming every hen is laying every single day (which naturally is unnatural).
I believe it could happen like you say. There are exceptions to the 25 hrs minimum to make an egg rule of thumb. But this guy is saying he gets 1.3-2 eggs from each chicken every day, and that he has 20 chickens which will do that, which is IMO complete baloney.x2. Our leghorn occasionally laid 2 eggs per day. Right!!! I wish I had a 2014 vehicle period. Mine are ‘00 and an ‘04.
Hey, I want a free vehicle too! ..... and since I don't have a car, I need someone to deliver it.
And on top of that, pay my insurance and gas for the next year... Oh, wait, that's what parents are for!Right!!! I wish I had a 2014 vehicle period. Mine are ‘00 and an ‘04.And then with gas prices (ours around here are still ridiculous) you want me to deliver it to you. I’m guessing you want a full tank of gas in it as well….

Yes a 2014 would be a step up for me too. We have a 2001 SUV and it runs OK. It's our BW (Beats walking) Repairs are less costly than regular car payments so I fully understand.Right!!! Luckily my husband is handy with just about anything…including vehicles. So ours actually run really well. But I would still take a 2014 if anyone is willing to give there’s up (Yes a 2014 would be a step up for me too. We have a 2001 SUV and it runs OK.
