pilots also use the term for the holding area on the tarmac; when there are too many planes waiting to take off and there are weather or other problems, some of them have to pull into the penalty box and sit waiting their turn.

Chickens, like airplanes, have wings, so perhaps....

I wish I had saved the rant from the other night someone posted on here. BYC must have deleted it. Someone went off on a tangent regarding all the ads that are posted here. Reminded me of just another ad posted on CL by someone who wants others to stop flagging them. LOL It was kinda funny. Owell.....

I saw that. It came to my email with notification of new posting on this thread. I copied and pasted it in a PM to the original poster to tell them it was posted under their name and I thought they should know that if they didn't post it, someone was posting such nasty rants using their name. No response. It was someone who had less than 400 posts on the forum. I wish I had written down the name. Oh well. I am pretty sure that a moderator removed it, because it wasn't here when I pushed the "see thread" button the email.

Hispanics think "chicken" means "hen." I've explained it to a couple of them and it's amazing to me how difficult it is for them to wrap their heads around the notion that calling them "chickens" is the same as calling a female dog a "dog."
