Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

For 15 grand, that dog better cook, clean, grocery shop, do my laundry, pay my bills... And poop gold bricks!

Maybe I should offer my dog for sale, if they are fetching that sort of price... She can't keep herself clean, she likes sleeping and dentastix. Must be worth at least $10,000, what do you reckon?

Some of those "re-homing" fee's under pets there are totally ridiculous, and most of the people who don't post a picture with them, probably have a mixed breed trying to pawn it off as a full breed, or maybe it's even be an ugly dog.
I know. Kittens go for $$$$$ at shelters while somebody who's mama cat has kittens is giving them away.

yes, but shelters pay for the proper vaccinations and kittens have all had vet checks (at a reputable shelter) and are therefor healthy. and in most states they have to be spayed/neutered before they can be adopted, which is not free.

At reputable shelters yes, but at shelters where they're dirty and all $20 is a bit much.... . But, that malamute fee is just... I mean yeah, they are HUGE but that fee is.....

Yep, I agree and it irks me to no end when people list a 'free' pet on Craigslist with a $100 or whatever re-homing fee, what part of free involves payment in these peoples minds?

Also, I believe a lot of these people really need to accept that once you sell or give something away like a pet or an item it's no longer yours to dictate rules on it's care or use, and you should not be pretending that you have any power to dictate what the new owners does unless there is a signed contract that both parties agreed to...

I agree completely. There was a woman on a thread here once that thought she was going to sell her mixed breed roosters for $40 each to someone and then be able to visit and check up on them after that. She said her reasoning was that she would give the money back after the person that bought him took care of him for a year and didn't eat him. I had to point out how unreasonable she was being - free roosters are all over craigslist, no one is going to pay $40 for a rooster and the 'pleasure' of then having to let someone traipse all over their farm for a year to 'visit' it and also be told what they can and can't do with the rooster they just bought.
