That bird is quite something - the best layer I have ever had only managed 3 eggs every 2 days.

That's amazing! My best was a barnyard mix hen (likely leghorn in the mix) that laid 1 giant egg every day. Never had a 2-egg-day from her. However, she went for 4 months without skipping a single day. By the end of that 1st year, she laid 359 eggs! (Without supplemental lighting)

Yes, you should. I guess that the 3rd laying bay is for whenever she might decide to start laying that 3rd egg a day?
