Oh, where to begin what's wrong here?

I'm sure the "big chicks" are only $1 because they keep flying up and pooping (or drowning) in the water. I actually saw one running around outside the bin.

The electrical cords from heat lamps were hanging down from the octopus-like outlet strip.

Then there's either some fun spelling or new breeds.
The Barred Rook could just be messy handwriting but perhaps it will grow into a big crow-like bird. Or maybe it's fair warning that customers are about to get "rooked."

Of course, the "Butt Op-ring-Ton" was my favorite.

My sensitive, soft spot wanted to "save" some, but logically, why should I give money to a store that doesn't care properly for its chicks? After all the transport and store stress, it was a big risk I'd get sick or dead chicks once home, and buying them would only help perpetuate poor management.

Is it a store in a chain so you could call corporate? Or a small operation where you can call the owners?
Surely they don't want a reputation as the worst place to buy chicks in town...

Id have to say something. I'm not a Karen and I wouldn't make it a big thing but I'd definitely have to say something to the staff about that.

Back to the thing about them asking to confirm a random number, I looked it up a while back when it happened to me. They do it thru google, which gives them your alternate phone number (if you have a google account) and allows them to set up fake phones, fake email accounts etc. for more trolling activities. I think it’s somewhat harmless, but it’s definitely a scam. Shut up Scammer is a perfect response.
I always look up area codes first. If it’s not a fairly local code, I don’t even reply to them.

The problem with that is phone numbers are so portable now. An area code from across the country could really be just down the street.

I’ve thought of that. But usually they will send a few more messages that might give more indication whether it’s real or a scam.
