I posted a list of chickens for sale with prices of each breed and how they were raised, fed and cared for. My prices were higher than most on there but sold a lot. Most people just say something like "layers for sale, $8" and that's it. What imagination.
I also got more scams than real replies.
I think those robo scammer programs do keyword searches because I used the term cockerel several times. Some replies were links to sexual performance sites.
The things people think of to make a buck amazes me.

You know how to fix that? Don't use email, use a phone number. The key is the phone number needs to be half spelt out like 111-one one one one.... I don't get spammers anymore, and people don't call unless they're really interested usually since calling is more personal than email.
Not Craigslist, but a local advertising site we have here... Wanted Female Peacock http://www.bismanonline.com/wanted_female_peacock And someone in the local newspaper was looking for a heifer bull.

I saw one the other day for FEMALE hens....
Well I put female hens in my ads because you never know what someone will keyword search and I want my ad to show up.
I also do full page ads with how they were raised, why I am selling, how to care for them...and it goes on and on! but no one every reads them so I don't know why I bother, people call me and ask me Qs about things that are stated in the ad!
I just posted a funny one yesterday that I found on the Milwaukee CL,
A person is selling silkie chicks, that can't be show chickens, the DQ's could be four toes, an extra toe or too much exposure to Pauley Shore movies. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/grd/2100211200.html
I have an ad posted for light/coronation split sussex roos. Here is a response I got in an email
"May u deliver to dwifferent location?"
The fact that this person can't spell makes me think it's spam and not want to respond. I had a previous email from the same name different address asking
"Will u email the shipping debtails?"
Um no....I will not. Learn to use spell check buddy.
