Black Giants?? Hmmm must be a new breed!

No. http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/black_giants.html

Stoopid McMurray and all hatcheries mess up true breed names!!! Grrr. New Hampshire Chickens for instance...NOT New Hampshire Red; Ameraucanas not Americanas; and JERSEY GIANT not just Black Giant! They drive me bonkers! It's like Rachel Ray and her food line...Nutrish, Delish....Seriously woman? It is THAT difficult to finish a word by adding the ending syllable? Finish it! NutriTIOUS, DeliCIOUS! Ugh. Just say it right! It isn't so hard. Oh well, she had so much potential.

$20.00????????? If he is an FFA student, then he knows that he can make money by shoveling poop and cleaning chicken coops. He wants the easy way out. I have been looking for an FFA student in my area to help out but all of them are lazy. No one wants to make any extra money. And I was willing to pay them $12.00 an hour.

Ya gotta excuse her, English may not be her primary language, McMurray should get it right

Chickens are their primary language.

Did you notice in the link you posted that they DO call them Jersey Giants? Just not under the title. The public and customers are the ones that should be LEARNING breed differences from the hatcheries, not setting the standard for which the hatcheries do their business and advertise their "product". That's like them putting the title "Leggern" because the public pronounces leghorn that way. I don't quite buy it.

They put both names in there an the most used in the title. Anyone that understands how the internet works would do the same. You also assume that when the public uses a name that differs from what the people at shows do then the public is wrong. What the public chooses always wins in the end.

Like new words that go into the dictionary (Oxford) because they become used by the masses...like Beyonce's "bootylicious" and the like! Ha ha. I get it.
