I got chickens from the tractor supply and 2 turned into white male poultry chickens. Unfortunately, I was told I need to butcher them before they die :( Does anyone offer this service?

A couple of questions: first, what OTHER kind of chickens are there (besides POULTRY chickens). Second, he needs to butcher before they die? Um, that should give him several years, as long as he takes care of them........so weird...

The POULTRY chickens part is funny, though!!
They are Cornish cross-a meat bird bred to grow fast and be butchered at 8 weeks. They do need to be butchered because they grow so fast it stresses their heart and legs. They will die anyway, if not butchered in time.

Huh! I stand corrected! (I'm not familiar w/Cornish/Cornish-crosses.) So, they are like some turkey breeds? I've heard you have to butcher some types (can't just keep them as pets) b/c the grow too large for their legs to support them. It is weird, though...you would have thought he's have looked into the type he was getting...

Looks like a glorified dog house to me, no way it would hold 8 chickens... maybe 2 or 3 at the most. It irritates me that people think if they will fit that is how many it will hold. I go by the at LEAST 4 sq ft per bird rule...

Adorable Chicken Coop with nesting boxes for 6-8 chickens.

It is about 39" wide, 48" long and close to 30" high. It is made of white oak with plywood sheathing on the roof with rolled roofing.

It holds up to 8 laying hens, 4 in the loft and 4 in the bottom.Lots of doors for checking eggs and allowing chickens to free range!

Matching 8 x 8 yard additional $50. Yard can be placed up against door and transferred to other door alternatively after chickens are locked up. Or chickens could just free range and be locked in at night. Call 417-679-****. Thanks!

This made me laugh-but I had to think about it before I realized what he was giving away!

Good one!

They are barred rocks but  barred rocks are called Dominique all the time unless you are at a show. The name barred rock almost never used around here.

Generally, anyone that cares will know an anyone that does not know does not care.

Yep. Same here in Texas. If it is barred, it's a Dominecker to most everyone. I get that "eyes glazing over" look if I try to explain that my barred rock isn't dominecker. So I just call them that and everyone is happy.
