at 14-15 weeks old, i’m still no closer to being sure that fatty is either pullet or cockerel. i see no pointy feathers on neck or saddle, wattles have been very slow to develop, but those two curly tail feathers...

TSC “maran”bin, straight run. obviously not a maran.

She's a Dominique... and yes, a pullet. She has absolutely no male feathering. Those two slightly curled feathers, it happens. She'll molt them out...

Do not fret.
That is most definitely a girl.
I had a pullet last year with two ABSOLUTELY WHACKADOODLE tail feathers and everyone I showed pictures to said “roo!”

SHE was not a roo. Eventually the two feathers fell out.

aw, @Mountain Peeps and @Alexandra33 , fatty thanks you for the compliments! i posted these photos on a chicken FB forum and someone responded that she was a “low quality” dominique - i know she’s from TSC and they’re not known for their fine breeding but i felt like i had to defend her honor!

You're so welcome!
"Low quality" definitely doesn't mean "ugly," in my eyes. I think she's gorgeous. Not everybody is out to show their birds, rather choosing to focus on pet traits, and that's perfectly fine.
