She's a she no matter what. She is pretty red, so eggs should be coming soon.

That's a female (hen if over 1 year, pullet if younger). Nothing there says anything boy.

Have raised BRs for years and I've had lighter hens and seen darker roosters. That is a hen, though she is a bit lighter than most BR hens. You cannot go solely on color at that age, but on body type, lack of shiny saddle feathers, etc.

Your hen is the same color as my late Lexie was. Lexie was always lighter than every other BR hen I ever owned. This was Lexie:

Beautiful barred rock HEN and should be laying already. The other one in the second picture is not mature yet. My BR girls have BIG combs & wattles but nowhere near the boys! You could definitely tell at that age the saddle & hackle feathers of the boys.
