OH NATIONAL 2012 ~ Are you going to be there?

Turkeys are always a big part of The OHIO NATIONAL. And quite often there are birds offered for sale. Just a few years back a Royal Palm Tom was Best-In-Show. That is something that seldom happens especially in a show the size of The OHIO NATIONAL but the judging staff is made up of some of the best judges in the nation who aren't afraid to place a good one when they see it.

Now a word of advice. Turkeys are challenged with MG at any poultry show they attend. And they certainly might have been exposed to and overcome the problem before they came to the show. But with turkeys any time they are stressed MG can rear it's ugly head and troubles can develop. Be forewarned that diseases, MG in particular, are very common after turkeys have been through the show environment and are further stressed when they get home.

Best bet- contact turkey breeders there and get your new birds from their farm.

We look forward to seeing you in Columbus!

It certainly could be termed "jumping in with both feet".

It is the biggest annual, and arguably the best, poultry show in the nation. But it is in your backyard and you will have a great time and learn a lot.

I will PM you a contact number to call when you arrive. There are a couple of nice folks with d'Uccles from here in Ohio that will help you along. I will introduce you.

I looked at your album pics and saw some birds that look OK. Don't fret. Most everybody that comes to The OHIO NATIONAL gets beat and they come back year after year to enjoy the competition and fellowship
Thanks Neil I will look you up. Michele

Don't know. Good luck to you also. I know a few are going though. I won't be staying in Columbus, I'm driving home every day, no one to tend to animals.

Glad to know so many peeps will be showing!!!

I will be showing and selling some birds, I have 2 of the sale cages that were for rent :p

I will have 2 pair of SQ buff silkies for sale.
At least one pair SQ self-blue d'Uccles for sale
At least one pair, probably 2 of millies for sale, but they will be young. Still look nice, though.
I will have a SQ black d'Uccle hen for sale, and maybe a pullet.

My daughter will be exhibiting in the youth show, so we will be there all weekend. She is showing Bantam RIR's, Bantam Barred and Columbian Rocks. We will most likely be selling a trio of the Columbian Rocks after they are judged if anyone is interested. We are also in search of some quality LF RIR's if anyone has some available, please let me know...any age, or even eggs will do!

I am looking for a Cream Light Brown Dutch rooster or a trio. If anyone has one they will be selling, please let me know! I am not sure if I will be able to attend, but if someone has these, I'm sure I can find a way!
