Oh no, I have made a BIG mistake. HELP

Amazingly she is still alive. Came out and ate a little scratch and is up on the little roost I constructed for them in their penned in area. Still has the cough, still tilts her head back to breathe. I can’t tell but maybe that eye is open just a tiny slit. Oh I also put the cool mist vaporize in their cage on Tuesday and Wednesday with Oxine at the dosage listed on BYC. I didn’t last night because I feel like I needed to let her be and I was emotionally spent after giving her that overdose of Tylan. I just wanted to see what the thoughts are for me to just let her be or continue with Tylan. I have already given all of them water soluble Tetracyline, I did that in the very beginning. Came here got some advice on giving them Corrid and I did. Then started her on the Tylan. She must be physically stressed from all of these meds

I think it's worth continuing the Tylan if you use the correct dose. Sadly, there are thousands of posts on the various forums that suggest incorrect amounts of Tylan, so most people are grossly underdosing their birds. :(

If you look at all of the veterinary formularies you see that the doses for birds are much higher than they are for cattle and swine and that it is given no less than twice a day.

This is a quote from a vet:
the dose for Tylan 50 works out to 0.2cc per pound. So 0.8-1cc for an average sized bird. This needs to be given every 6-8 hours. Most people are WAY underdosing with Tylan.

This is from Plumb's Veterinary Handbook:

Glad to hear she is still with you. Since she is still symptomatic, by all means continue treating with the Tylan. You don't want to create resistance by stopping too soon.
I dont know how much to give her orally. She only weighs no more than 3 lbs I would say, if that. She is so fragile. I may be spitting in the wind trying to make her better

No less than 0.2 ml per pound every 6-8 hours, but not more than what I suggested in an earlier post, which is:
  • 0.25 ml per pound four times a day
  • 0.33 ml per pound three times a day
  • 0.50 ml per pound four times a day
Do you have a facebook account?

Yes I do. Peggy Evans. You know the other Sussex is coughing today. Surely she couldn’t have caught anything. Not after all this time. I know what I would like to do. Go back to February and buy chickens from a different vendor. Or better yet not buy any. That is how frustrated I am at this point. Is there any way I can give the Tylan twice a day. I think it would be better for her, me trying to catch her and then hold her while giving the med and her struggling the whole time. I think I ordered some Tylan water soluble a couple of days ago. I have Baytril and tetracycline. Could I give that instead? I don’t know that the Tulane is even doing anything, I have given it for 3 days including that over dosage ystdy
